Media Literacy Leadership Summit 2023
National Association of Media Literacy Education’s first-ever Media Literacy Leadership Summit takes place on Saturday, September 30, 2023. The in-person gathering will take place at Emerson College in Los Angeles, CA from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. PST.
The full day participatory summit will focus on the question “What is the future we want to create for media literacy education?” to help our community envision a path forward for scaling media literacy education efforts in the U.S. The workshop will be facilitated by Sangita Shresthova, PhD, from Civic Imagination Project at University of Southern California. Participants will be asked to bring their imaginations for this creative and interactive workshop. We are inviting participants to step outside the box, roll up their sleeves, and envision the future of media literacy education.
There is no fee to participate, and NAMLE is providing event space and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Participants are also invited to a complimentary reception at Emerson College on Friday, September 29 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. PST. Participants will be responsible for their personal travel and lodging costs. For suggested lodging options, please visit Emerson College’s website page.
Due to the overwhelming amount of interest, we have closed registration and will be in touch with those who have already completed the form and expressed their interest in attending. Please email namle@namle.net with any questions.
