I’ve traveled a path through music, architecture, film, animation, game/graphic/motion design, illustration, photography, and writing. I am fascinated by the stories people live and tell, and I explore visual means to express them with bold honesty.
As the Founder and Creative Director of The LUX-ID Design Group, I partner with individuals and organizations to more deeply link their passions and their communities through creative approaches to media, education, and social connectivity. For twenty years, I have produced a diverse body of work in multiple mediums for numerous clients – embracing various art forms and processes.
In the early nineties, I unfortunately had to quit playing bass in a small blues band in Milwaukee, due to the workload from my BSAS in Architecture and Urban Planning from The University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee (favorite professor – Dennis Manley). I finished my degree and immediately began film production and theory classes at the film school at the same university (favorite professor – Patricia Mellencamp). A year later (1995), I was in Los Angeles attending The University of Southern California earning my MFA in Film and Animation (favorite professor – Tom Sito). Since then, I’ve worked largely for the entertainment industry, between occasionally teaching design – and revealing art – to kids from grade school to college-level. I now only play bass when accompanying my teenaged son during his guitar practice sessions. He thinks I might be good someday.
I am currently working as a motion/graphic designer for Endemol Shine North America. I am the Board President of JazzAntiqua Dance & Music Ensemble. And I recently joined the Board of Directors for the National Association for Media Literacy Education.
