EverFi

EverFi_logoEverFi, the nation’s leading provider of critical skills instruction, partners with educators to teach, assess, and certify students in the critical skills they need for life. Our online learning platforms use the latest technology, including gaming and simulations, to bring complex concepts to life for today’s digital natives. These learning platforms not only track student knowledge gains but also measure student attitudes on these important topics. Teaching skills ranging from digital citizenship to entrepreneurship, EverFi’s web-based courses are currently in use in over 5,000 schools across the U.S. All of EverFi’s platforms are available to schools free of charge.

Two years ago, after speaking with educators around the country who spoke of their growing concern that their students be able to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly EverFi took on the pressing issue of digital citizenship by developing Ignition – Digital Literacy and Responsibility. This three-hour, online course teaches middle school students the essentials of computing and of living and learning in an increasingly digital age. Working through seven modules covering topics ranging from choosing a cell phone plan to recognizing and avoiding cyberbullying, students consider real-world situations through realistic simulations and scenarios. Ignition arms students with the knowledge and tools they need to make positive choices about their online behavior, and also to consider the positive potential of the Internet, as well as their potential to explore technology-based careers.
