Theresa Redmond is an Assistant Professor at Appalachian State University working with the Media Studies Faculty in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the Reich College of Education. She specializes in media literacy education and educational technology integration, and currently teaches a range of media and technology courses across various degree tracks in both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Theresa's research agenda is rooted in understanding educational practice and pedagogy in teaching and learning with/through/about media and technology to best support students' engagement, expression, and empowerment in a digital world. This includes a focus on: technology, media, and new media in K-12 education and teacher preparation; media literacy program development; effective practices in online/distance learning; interactive texts in teaching and learning; the pedagogy of interactive whiteboards (IWBs); and media arts production.

Theresa holds a master’s degree in Educational Media with a concentration in Media Literacy from Appalachian State University and a doctorate in Educational Media and Technology from Boston University.
