Kelly Mendoza is an educational program developer as Senior Manager of Education Content and Curriculum at Common Sense Media. She is also a Doctoral Candidate in the Mass Media and Communication Program at Temple University. In her dissertation research, Kelly is exploring how parents use protectionist and empowerment strategies to manage their preteen’s Internet use.
Kelly has produced media education materials and curriculum for children, parents, and teachers. In addition to producing curriculum for Common Sense Media's Digital Literacy and Citizenship program, she has produced educational materials for PBS Frontline's Digital Nation and Growing Up Online; PBS Teacher's Access, Analyze, Act: A Blueprint for 21st Century Civic Engagement; and My Pop Studio, a media literacy game site for preteen girls produced by the Media Education Lab at Temple University.
