Call for Nominations: JMLE Editorial Board

The co-editors of the Journal of Media Literacy Education (JMLE) seek media literacy scholars, practitioners and educators to join our Editorial Board in an effort to magnify the diversity of voices, pedagogies and technologies that comprise the rapidly growing field of media literacy education.

The JMLE is an online, open source academic journal that seeks to expand the knowledge and practice of media literacy education through scholarly research articles, Voices from the Field essays, and professional resource reviews.

Editorial board responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and expertise in a field related to media literacy education;
  • Reviewing manuscript submissions
  • Promoting the JMLE among your colleagues and students

You will be prompted to include a brief statement of your expertise and to identify your current interest in/contributions to the field of media literacy education. You will also be asked to send a 2-page vitae or resume to editor@jmle.org.

The JMLE is the flagship journal of the National Association for Media Literacy Education. JMLE Editorial Board nominees must be an active member of NAMLE prior to their appointment.

Nomination deadline: March 1, 2012

Invitations to serve on the JMLE Editorial Board will be sent on or around March 15th.

About Vanessa Domine, Ph.D.: Vanessa Domine is currently an Associate Professor at Montclair State University where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in technology and pedagogy within Montclair’s nationally acclaimed teacher education program. Dr. Domine has written numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and web content on the subjects of critical pedagogy, media literacy education, technology planning and teacher education. Her most recent book is, Rethinking Technology in Schools (Peter Lang, 2009). Much of her work is accessible through her professional website: Project Literacy Among Youth (PLAY) at kidsplay.org. Dr. Domine was elected to the NAMLE Board of Directors in 2009 and currently serves as the NAMLE 2011 Conference Program Chair, coordinator of the Marketplace, and was recently elected to the position of First Vice President.
